Trans issue 4l60e Ok so I have a 98 Camaro with a fresh 4l60e and ss3600 stall Im having this problem were sometimes if I go wot in drive it only goes to 3k and like its stuck in gear. But if you leave it in 3rd it will down shift fine and ride out and same if I shift from 1st and on .. normal driving its works as it should . Never seen this before or experienced this before could it be the tune?
the trans is fresh? did it do this right after it being built? it worked fine for a little bit? is it binding? Ive seen snap rings pop out from not being seated. Also the release spring assembly in the low reverse drum will break out in the center where the snap ring is and it will drag.sprag installed incorrectly?

Yes trans was gone through while I had the car apart to put cam and all new bearing in engine .. I even had the tran opened back up to double check it and was told there is nothing wrong so its throwing me off to whats wrong its drives perfect normal driving and manually shifting.. its like its a hit or miss deal with the car there are no nosies or anything that has got my attention

What do you mean by this? The engine will only rev to 3K? Have you checked the fuel pressure with the engine under a load?

What I mean is it only goes to 3k some times like its stuck like 4th or lock up and other times it works fine. if you manually shift it It works every time or leave it in 3rd it never happens. The only times to messes up is when its in drive but I did not check fuel pressure because I dont think its the problem if its works normal if manually shifted or left in 3rd. Problem is only at wot normal driving its fine

4l60e rebuild issue I drive a 1999 (00) gmc Sierra with a 4l60e transmission that I just rebuilt. The only thing I didnt replace on the trans Is the valve body (I just pulled it off I never pulled it apart) I put the whole transmission back together and it went together smoothly. Put the transmission in and reverse works perfectly (previous to the overhaul I had lost reverse o/d and second gear as the sun gear broke) however when you shift it into drive it starts off in 3rd. You can manually shift it to second however when you put it in low it does not go into first. The only thing I can think of is the valve body gasket I put in it was for an 01 so I'm not sure if that can cause that. Please respond asap
