Default T56 to 4L60E Harness Question

I picked up a 1998 LS1 engine harness a couple nights ago, and in my rush forgot to inquire what transmission the harness was for... come to find out it's T56 harness and my plan is to use a cheaper 4L60E. Can the T56 harness still be used?

That was my fear... so would I be correct based on further research that my options are:

1. Find someone willing to trade a 98' A4 harness for my 98' M6 harness.
2. Purchase a 4L60E Extension harness
3. Go to the junkyard and try to pull a trans harness out of another LS equipped 4L60E vehicle

sure all 3 would work.
Why are you set on a 98 harness/setup? Usually you have to modify it to be able to use a 99+ pcm (preferred over the 98)
You could also look into different aftermarket options if you want to spend the coin.

My Z28 is a 1998 and I'm not an electrical wizard. My understanding is that the harness under the dash has three connectors and the 99+ only has two. My plan was to re-pin the 98' harness so I could use a 411 PCM and then just have the fuel tables adjusted to work with my 98 gauges. This would have worked, and still will... but unless I trade I will have to use a T56 which I wouldn't be opposed to except for cost.

If you aren't confident in electrical work...then adding the 4l60e harness things might not be too easy.

Either find another 98 harness for an auto...or order an aftermarket harness.

I assumed it would be tracing the wires from the transmission connector back to the red/blue connectors to the PCM and then just de-pinning them? Then looming that up and running it to the red/blue connectors on my harness and pinning them in the correct spots?

I'm not confident in my ability to build a harness from scratch.

I am still looking into trades if possible as a first option. I won't be spending $200+ to convert my harness to A4 with the 4L60E extension harness.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1998-Camaro...temCondition=4

And then sell yours. You can easily sell the whole setup for $300 plus. You can find them cheaper if you search and are patient.

EFI Connection LLC can make you a add-on harness for a 4l60. they did one for me for my 01 z28. think it was $75 bucks with 4l60/65 connector and 90in leads that are already pinned for the ECM

KansasZ28, did you ever figure this out? I have the add on 4L60 controller I received when I bought my harness on eBay. I’m going to run my 200-4r instead and you are welcome to this for the cost of shipping if you want. It’s pinned in to my ecm now but that’s an easy fix. Let me know, Roger
