Default Who Vacuum tests pump and valve body on rebuild 4l60e

Does everyone here do vacuum tests on valve body and pump for 4l60e when rebuilding? Ort only if there is a specific reason to?

What about just doing wet air tests instead? Just wondering the importance of it as I don't have a proper tool to properly seal the orifices in the pump or valve body, although I do have an air compressor so could maybe do wet air tests If I know where to put fluid and what ports to seal up.

I have a write up on how to make your own vacuum tester. Less than $100 if you're crafty
I would say my rate of issues with any trans (i build alot of 60e) dropped by over 90%
Wet tests hold no candle to a proper vacuum test.

The air check shows bore wear in the valve body and to what degree it is worn. A wet air test won't do that.

Every trans that leaves my shop is vacuum tested.
