Default Transgo separator plate difference

97 single piece case 4l60e from a Camaro.

I have a new transgo separator plate to replace the original which is pretty stuffed.

when I compare the plates, they are identical, except for one small hole which in the transgo plate is a rectangle instead of a circle.

Does this matter? If not, does it mean I have to use the 2000 - 2002 gaskets which has the rectangle also?

That is for TCC regulated apply oil. The rectangle is fine. It's just a through-hole...not a metering hole.
Use it if that's the only difference

awesome thank you! What about the gaskets? There's two distinctive gaskets in my rebuild kit. One for 97 (labled v and c)and one for 2000-2002 (labeled ca and vb) Do I need to use the 2000 style which has the rectangle ?

With the TransGo separator plate, always use the late gasket with the white stripe. This is for the 1993 - 2006 separator plate.Their kits come with the late gaskets, however no whits stripe on the TransGo gaskets.
