Does anyone know if the 6R80 transmission (F150) will connect directly to an LS3 engine? If not, do you know where I can find an adaptor?

B. do you really think they bolt up? Does the coyote and LS have the same bolt pattern...no

I hope they bolt up directly without an adaptor. If they don't, I'd like to know where to find an adaptor.

What will you be using to control the combo?

I personally have not seen anyone make/use this adaptor...you may have to innovate as I don't see much drive in the market for something like this (maybe I'm missing it)

 

It is for a 1977 F150 build. I don't know how I will control the set up. I had a 2011 GMC Sierra and hated the transmission and I don't like the risk of receiving a coyote engine with the typewriter click flaw. I think the LS3 is a better engine than the coyote but the Ford transmission is better than the GM. So I plan to combine the best together. The 10R80 bolts easily to both the LS3 and coyote because it is produced in a joint venture between the companies but I'm not sure if the 6R80 easily bolts to the LS3.

 

Well, the 6r80 is a clutch to clutch transmission just like the 6l80 from gm. They will both have similar shift feel issues if the tune is wrong.
The 6l80e is the proper match for the LS3 and when tuned correctly, it will shift fine and last a long time.
