Default 4l60e (2003) dimensions

I’m having trouble finding the difference in dimensions between a late 4l60e vs an older 700r4. I pulled the 700r4 out of my 87 pickup and swapped in the 4l60. From what I’m finding from the bellhousing mounting surface to the rear mount bolts the distance is supposed to be shorter. I had to slide my motor forward 2-3” (I have dirty dingo motor mounts) which indicates to me that the distance is further not shorter? I no longer have the old trans to verify, I’d like to modify my crossmember oppose to buying one. Did some searching and found tci has some drawings, but those conflict with what I’m experiencing. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance

Are both of these 2WD? I have a 1989 700R4 2WD ready to build I can measure. I also have a 2002 4L60E 5.3L 2WD I can measure tomorrow. I am assuming you are looking for the difference in the bell housing to transmission mount location.

When GM modded the case in 96-97 ish for the bolt on bellhousing, they also moved the trans mount onto the extension housing (about 2" further back as you have found)

Some 700's have a mount on the trans tail housing. All except the c4 corvette have the mount on the case. Is it possible you had a c4 case with the mount on the tail housing?
