Default Bad ream job?

Referring to the below image, can someone please confirm if the sonnax tcc regulator valve kit 77754-03k - just the bit circled. Is this supposed to be able to move freely in the boar? Mine is jammed in there and I can't get it out. Wondering if that's the source of my lockup problem.

That part is supposed to stay bottomed in the bore. It blocks the fluid signal from the pwm tcc solenoid. Thereby allowing the spring and regulator valve to be solely in control of the lockup pressure.
Its a method to eliminate pwm without having 100% of line pressure go to lockup like some other setups do.

So...long answer short...no it is not supposed to be stuck in the bore...but it is supposed to be making a positive seal...and it doesn't ever need to move once it is bottomed in the bore.

Does anyone know if you could perform this test with the transmission still in the car? I don't know how you would tell if the apply valve is stroking because you cant see it with the solenoid installed.

You'd hear a leak. If it vacuum checked well...it doesn't make much sense that test would fail.

D.O.A. converter...wrong O ring on the input shaft...etc would be more likely I think

Yeah I'm wondering if I've used the wrong o ring now I think about it. There were lots in my rebuild kit and I kind of just grabbed one that fit snug. In hindsite that was probably a bad idea.

I'm gonna drop the trans again. Will purchase a new input shaft o ring and compare it to the one I used. I'm sure its correct but wont know for sure.

I genuinely think I have a doa converter. Might end up having to chop it open just to check if I can't find anything wrong.
