Default How to reset adaptive learning

Is there a way to reset the adaptive learning, other than having a dealership do it? Will be putting a rebuilt trans in right away and wasn’t sure if this needs to be done or not, thanks.

Unplug the vehicle battery overnight and most of these PCM's will get amnesia for the learned parameters. But also expect the engine to need 4-5 attempts to start after this. It will eventually start, run rough for a few seconds and then settle into a good idle. At least this is what usually happens with my 896 PCM.

OTOH, it should soon overwrite its learned parameters if you don't do anything at all with it.
