Default Help!!! I need some transmission advice...

I went to the track today and I had 2 passes which went without a hitch. Then I turned off the car to inflate my tire to go home. I couldn't get over 35 MPH The car would rev up to around 5 grand but the speed wouldn't go up any. I checked the fluid level and it was below the fill mark. I am praying that it is just low on tranny fluid. can you guys think of any other possibilities it could be? I have a built 4L60E transmission.

Happened to me once. Had a reverse manual th400 with a B&M quicksilver shifter. The shifter cable split in half longways.

Your description of the problem is very vague. Do you have any scan tools? Does it shift at all? Guess that's a start.

If you kept driving it while it was having that kind of issue you may have done some damage to it.

Just as Jays SSZ28 said; We need a better description of what you are experiencing...

Are you stating that when you accelerate, the vehicle would act like the transmission is slipping or going into neutral???
If that is the problem that you are trying to explain; than give us more details.
It is possible when your transmission warms up, it looses line pressure...

Or if not, then tell us what it is. However be detailed in your explanation.

Regardless... You should purchase an inexpensive trainsmission ATF pressure gauge to take measurements of the transmission line pressure in all of the different gear selector positions.

When I'm in second gear I can go no faster than 35 mph at around 3000 rpm's, when I put into drive while going at 35 mph the rpm's shoot up to around 5500 rpm's.

I am pushing 600 hp and I'm thinking about replacing mine with a 4L80E.

You lost the 3-4 clutch.
You can unplug the main wiring to the transmission and see if it has 3rd, it should be stuck in third, and max line pressure with the harness unplugged, but don't get too excited it's still gone.
