Parish-I'm suprised Mike told you it was ok to lock the TC at WOT. He has specifically said on several occasions that it will void the warranty. With as much torque as your truck has, that little clutch would have a tough time locking. Thats where the multi-disk vig comes into play.

TT as in Truck Thruster or whatever? I think they've got 10.5" clutches?

Yeah, Truck Thruster. I guess it's still a single disc, but a larger one?

Who the hell puts a turbo on truck??

Yup your right, I'm old school and expect trucks to have blowers for the low end grunt. I know he runs more boost than your typical stage one set-up.

My Yank TT3000 and my Hughes 10" 80e converter side by side ... this would be one of the reasons I opted for something BESIDES a Yank when I got the Hughes converter.

BTW, I want to say they put a 5 disk clutch in this one.

I was very happy with the ProTorque, it outlasted the transmission. Only problem with it was the time it took to ship - nearly 2 months.
The 80 will be getting a TCI Street Fighter.

I liked my Yank, but after hearing about Parish's trouble with them, and a couple of other problems with Yank, I decided I wasn't going to go with them.

Default I also want to share my bad experience with Yank

I had speed demon install a SS3600 torque converter. 2 days later it was making really wierd noises, the worst when you'd have the brake on and rev it up around 1500-2000 rpm it would make a god aweful noise. Speed demon spoke to them and supposedly Mike said there was no way their converter could be the cause of this.

So they had to order a new unit, put my old stock unit back in, and then weeks later when it finally showed up, re-install it again. This was after delays because Yank said they shipped a new one when they really didnt.

The new one has been fine so obviously Mike didnt know what he was talking about and whoever handled shipping was also full of crap saying it had shipped when it had in fact not.

I will DEFINATELY not be buying another Yank product and not recommend anyone considering a yank these days. If he has too much business to provide good customer support, he soon wont have that problem.
