TCC slip on new 4L60E?

I have a 2001 formula that is completely stock minus a K&N filter (on the car when I bought it) with 134k miles on it. Around 3-4 years ago the transmission started to slip in the 3-4 transition, but I had the car in storage so it wasn't really driven. My dad went ahead and swapped the tranny for a rebuilt 4L60E from ETE Reman and it currently has less than 1k miles on it.
Since the swap, the engine was misfiring which turned out to be from some crappy plugs he also put in...I threw some delco iridiums in there and it purrs now, but the car seems to still have an issue when the TCC engages. In between 40-60 mph it feels like the TCC is slipping and catching over and over... (slightly pressing brake while driving releases the TCC and the slip stops so im almost positive its from the TCC) I have seen many posts with similar symptoms but never really could find a definite fix for this.
I looked over the install instructions for the 4L60E and noticed that it mentions resetting adaptive memory and checking for updates at calid.gm.com. I can almost guarantee that my old man did not do this ...lol (outside of the battery being off for a long time, but i assume there is some flash memory somewhere in there too)
Is it possible that having a PCM/memory reset and maybe even the TAP reset may clear up this TCC slip?
Thanks for any help or suggestions!
TAP etc isn't an issue for the 60e in your car.
Make sure no codes and make sure TCC is being commanded by the pcm...not forced on/off/on/off randomly.
If TCC is commanded...and it's not...then it's a mechanical issue of some sort.
It originally was throwing a P0300. I found that the plug in 7 was cracked... I replaced all 8 with new iridium delco's and the code has not returned (it has been a few weeks) Other than that it had a P0135 for the HO2S in 1/1. I replaced it as well and code cleared and has not returned.
With all codes gone, what would be the best way to check that it is being commanded? I see the TCC solenoid is the tan/blk wire and the PWM is brown.... but I assume they need checked while in operation...The most "advanced scanner" i have atm is a bluedriver, so it isn't much help haha. I assume I may need a more professional grade scan tool?
Thanks again for the help!
I've also keen oil type filters (K&N being the most popular) cover the MAF in a light oil film, causing all kinds of issues with line pressure and enough misfires to cause funky trans lockup...but not enough misfires to toss a code.
If not...BAFx obd2 bluetooth, dash command, view live data. If you need to add PID's then pay for the pro version that of Dash Command and unlock those PID's
The dongle is about 20 and pro version of app with extra parameters should be 20 also

I plan to take it to a shop soon, but just spit balling ideas in case there is anything else that I can check in the interim....

If you are doing 70 on the highway and give it some gas can it slip and free rev? does it lock and unlock or shudder?
You could try a new tcc lock up solenoid, or what I did was just throw a $140 proking converter in mine and it fixed everything (this was before my FTI converter). Mine got to the point that if I was going 60-65 and went to pass someone on the highway and gave it a decent amount of gas it would just free rev from slippage. I took the gamble on the $140 converter when a used Yank SS3600 I bought turned out to be for a corvette, I just needed a converter I knew was good because I suspected the stock converter to be done. Apparently lots of 2000 GM cars/trucks have converter issues.a 2000 gmc 2500 I had also had issues.
I was leaning more towards a solenoid, but again it is a newly reman'd.....That's why I was wondering if it is possible something in the tuning could have been tweaked by the previous owner to help the failing tranny that now, with the new one, is causin issues.
