Default V6 4l60e
Please help!! I have a 96 camaro rs and my transmission is gone. I have a 99 firebird with a good 4l60e in it. Will my 96 pcm control the 99 4l60e? What if any issues will I have?

Lets start this off very easily...

Both cars do NOT share the same engine... Do you have a plan to get around that issue before we get into the transmission control?

Let me double check for you...

1996 should have a 60* Chevy V6 not a Buick V6.

96 was the first year of the 3.8 in 4th gens

Actually 95 in California and perhaps some other places. But you're right, the 3.4 went away in the 96 model year.

All that said, his question remains. The 99 uses a different PCM, so it's up in the air at this point as to whether his 96 PCM will control it.

PCM Does not matter for the 96-05 4l60e transmissions
They will plug in and work the same.
