Default Dipstick tube for swap

Hi folks, i am looking for a part number,or even juat a good vehicle to take from, for a drivetrain swap,
i have in 83 jag xj6 and have swapped in a 94 lt1 and 4l60e from a formula, looks like it was made to to go there with one exception...
the trans dipstck and Tube, come up then point a long way forward.. im looking for something that will put it back at rear of engine and pointing up..
looked at an impala but it appears to do same thing... maybe a pickup??? But don't want it too tall... any help greatly appreciated.
thanks
Darren

For my custom install I bought a typical 4L60E dipstick tube and then used an electrician's pipe bender to first bend it straight and then bend it the way I wanted. I bent it so that the mounting tab aligned with a hole in the back of the cylinder head. I would avoid the Gen-4 dipstick tube because the the engine/trans sit quite far back the tube therefore extends far forward.

Not sure, but this might work for you:

And due to its size and weight, the pipe bender tends to be cheaper locally than on Amazon. Here is a typical tool at HomeDepot:

But maybe someone else has a better choice or idea...

What ever option you go with, check it on your trans once you have the stick installed. You'll have to pull the pan and mark the actual full line which is the pan rail, or just a little over. Every aftermarket stick I've come across is off. If you want to use what you have I'd do what 01redssa4 did in this thread https://ls1tech.com/forums/automatic...-dipstick.html

Yeah, that is the proper way to be sure. I didn't mention it because most will think "that is too much trouble" and not bother. If /when you drop the pan to do it correctly, you might consider adding a drain plug.
Also, to avoid the extreme mess of dropping a full trans oil pan, I first stick a $10 Harbor Freight fluid pump down the dipstick tube to suck most of the fluid out.

oh yea, it's astounding how many people will blindly believe there investment of a trans or into a swap to a 50 dollar part. The number of wrong ones ive seen way out weighs the number of right ones ive come across. Mine was 3/4"low on my set up.
