Default Best converter for ME

Hey guys, been a while.
This covid-19 **** really threw a wrench in life ehhh lol.

Anyway, it's time to order a converter.
I previously had a pt4000 and I loved it.

Over the winter, I pulled it all apart and rebuilt the engine with new rods, good bolts, new oil pump and timing chain and some 2110 Johnson's on the inside.

My power parts I've added
stage 2 243s
And a fast 102.
Same ms4 cam.

I've also went to a 4l80.
This engine is going to be N/A, with MAYBE, POSSIBLY a hundred shot.
The 4000 worked great for my previous combo, but I'm not so sure with this "new setup"
I called yank and I asked him a few questions, but I didn't want to keep him on the phone to learn ya know. He said shifting at 7200 will be ok and the converter will take the power. He says that the 4400 shouldn't blow through either, even with the added power, since I run it to 7200

So which one should I run?
I know Ill make at least 30-40 more at the tires, so that would loosen up a 4000 a little, but I'm not sure if it'll be enough. I remember my first pass with the 4000 and at launch I remember saying out loud "needs more" lol.

What do you guys think?

Are the only (rear wheel HP affecting) changes:

-Ported 243 heads (did the combustion chamber size change) ?
-Change to a 4L80E (which direct drum/ intermediate sprag are you using for 7,500 RPM)?

Average torque production is what will have the biggest impact on a how the torque converter operated.
A peak 30HP change should not really have an impact though.

Which 4l80e series/ diameter converter were you looking at?

I agree pt4400 but imo with myself having one I think 100 shot and more would blow through that converter.

They are milled 5 thousandths, and are about 2cc's smaller pre milling

The hard parts are stock. Builder said that my rpm ceiling is pushing it, but at my power level, he's not worried about it.

30hp was a low estimate I'm sure. I mean stock 853s to these 243s and a fast 102 has to be worth a while lot of average torque.

I'm just about sold on yanks 9.5 inch pt4400.
5 characters lol

Just about sold on it. The 4000 really woke it up, but it just needs that little more

Where do you shift again?
I remember our combos are fairly comparable.

I'm thinking I'll hit it with 50 and see how the converter acts. Then creep up from there

The best converter for you is custom built. Every Yank we've ever cut apart was the same combo of parts. Construction is good, but they are a typical cookie cutter converter. We typically make customers go .2-.3 faster ET reworking the Yank stuff.
