how hard is it to rebuild a 4l60e
I watched All 20* transmission bench videos 5 times. I watched every performabuilt YouTube video (probably once or twice)... andI’ve watched countless precision transmission videos... and I bought the book.
book is pretty good... but there were things like springs and such I needed to double check in the videos. I wish the book gave measurements of springs and their locations.
I have it under the truck and putting it in as I type this. I Did the Sonnax rollerized balanced sunshell.. sonnax performance pack... TransGo separator plate... Sonnax HD 2-3 valve and the extra wide stator bushing. So I had a pile of stuff left over once I was finished. That’s nerve racking lol.
I even took it back apart and put it back together 4 times to check my work over. Longest build in the history of 4l60es. I figured it was less work to quadruple check than it was to put it in and have to take it back out lol. Neat thing is I can stack it out in almost a half hour now w/checking clearances lol. Got real familiar with it
