Really. 😀 Where I grew up we called it a stall. Just like cement isn’t “suhment”...it’s “SEEmint”. 😀

My math was just done quick with the 80mph at that rpm if the converter was locked - 30% = his actual speed of 55mph.
80mph - 30% = his 55mph at 6200 rpms. So 30% slip. Far from precise due to not know exactly what rpm he is shifting at but his tuner should be able to give him a pretty close % using rpm vs output shaft/vss I would think.

Punching in his specs into a slip calculator I end up with around 40% slip.

In a healthy converter it is less efficient the lower the rpms and as the rpms increases the slip % should drop.

I go anywhere from 12 % in lower rpms and in 2nd gear to around 8-9% at the top of 3rd and obviously my 1:1 gear.

None of the numbers I gave are absolutley precise for his converter or mine but they are also not far off. Lots of little variables......

Situational, that depends on parts and work needed.

Ah gotcha. And makes sense, pretty simple and easy way to get to a really close estimate of efficiency. And at the rpm he was at at 55 mph (around 6k) that converter should have been in full stall long before that. And his particular stall again I believe is supposed to only have around 3% slip once in full stall. I don't see it on the website but I believe that's the number I saw when I bought my SS3800 in 2010. Either way, that thing is shot lol.

If that was your first converter you are going to be floored with a mechanically right one along with spinning that thing higher

I'm looking forward to it. The A/C in my house crashed yesterday so I'm going to have to try to find a way to finance a new/rebuild CONVERTER now.

lol CONVERTER

Sorry to hear about the a/c man, that's a f'ing bummer.

If it makes you feel better...

when I was mowing my yard last night I hit the wiring for my ac unit with the weedeater and ripped the wiring out of the unit and then in a fit of rage I threw the weedeater at my neighbors fence (long standing issues with them and their fence and their dog and throwing trash in my yard) and I had to stop mowing and fix my ac.

Then after I repaired all the wiring I picked up the weedeater and it wouldn't run at all, have no idea why but something on the fuel side went to **** and I had to pull all the hoses and tank and clean everything and redo all the hoses and clean the carb to get the weedeater to work again, so then I was outside mowing until almost 9:30 at night..

But it gave me the opportunity to drink more beer while mowing so that worked out at least.

Hahahahahahaha. You're like that guy I've seen online that loses his **** over his weedeater and smashes it about 100 times in his driveway.

I'm in MO. But my uncle does HVAC so he's on top of it. So thanks for the offer. If you have a free CONVERTER I'll take that.
