A. why is there an ls4 crank in your lm7 block
B. how did you verify this
C. it will affect starter engagement and converter engagement
D. the easy fix is a 3mm crank spacer/pilot

A first dip in ls world bought gen 3 block with gen 4 internals (did not know they were LS4 )
B have a thread going in forced induction
C thats what i was worried about
D have ordered flexplate shims+snout extender engine+box our out(project) guess i will need to mock up convertor in the box and flexplate on block and do some measuring

gen 4 internals are not the same as LS4 internals
LS4 was the RPO code for the FWD v8 with the smaller bellhousing pattern.
The LS4 was an odd duck because it had to be special to fit the chassis. Shorter shout, different crank flange, etc.

For you to have that crank in your LM7, someone would have had to rebuild it and replace the stock crank with an LS4 crank. Since they are tough to come by...I'd find it very very odd if someone did that

Well, I'm sure you already know about the accessory spacing on the front will be different also.
And the torque converter pilot is different in the end of the crank so be wary of that

Best of luck to ya

I honestly would find another core... or used rotating assembly.

The FWD crank and everything else is a PITA!

That is a bummer...

At least the rotating assembly should have been very cheap second hand...
and a basic rotating assembly balance (within a + - 0.5gram tolerance) should have been about $250 to $400.

You don't have a ton of money invested...
I would pull-out now before she grabs ya by the ***** and forces you to "Finish"!
Thus you now have wasted too much money on child-support.

it got rebuilt with molnar rods/wiseco pistons so if it does get a crank it will probably be an aftermarket one
