80e slow to engage reverse, sometimes does not drop into 1st at a stop.
mild build 80e using the CK style accumulator delete. dual feed mod. the OE reverse band was toast, put a OE style borg band in it.
I have the VB out now doing a transgo AFL bore kit
I do not have the gear made to check pin travel.
has anyone here done the thing where you weld up the apply pin to lengthen it .050"?
just wondering if I should shotgun that in there while I have the pan off
thanks gents
The transmission not returning to 1st after stopping is going to be valve-body related...
For the band adjustment/ clearance...
Give this a read.

I know some people removed the reverse checkball...I did not.
I'll look more into adjusting the band.
Worn AFL valve-train/ low AFL fluid pressure will cause that issue.
It is very common to see this... the shift solenoids can not do there job without a healthy AFL valve-train/ pressures.
Most of the valve-bodies that I overhaul, require this repair as well as the TCC regulator valve-train from Sonnax.
