Default Help with 4L60E TCC Regulator Spool Orientation

Is anyone familiar with the 1-piece steel converter clutch regulator spool shown in the attached photo?
This is my first rebuild (salvage yard core; 2001 model), and what I have does not look like the stock 2 spools separated by a spring (circled).
I missed catching it at disassembly and am now unsure of the correct order & orientation. Online searches haven't yet shown anything similar.
I could use my OE parts, but I presume this was intended as an upgrade, and am inclined to use it if it fixes a known problem.
Any insight or advice would be appreciated.
Thank you!

I can see the image. Weird that you can't vortec! Hope it gets fixed up for ya

It most definitely is the transgo TCC valve...however, the orientation you have in your photo is backwards.
The end of the valve by the spring should have a drilled and tapped hole in the end...that end needs to be opposite the spring.
Yes, the spring still goes into the bore first.

It is an upgrade that makes TCC an on/off operation instead of a pwm operation

Yes, it does have a threaded end.
Is that just for extracting it?

I searched for TransGo TCC valves, and did not find one the same - any hints?

I've turned it around and will give it a try.
I'm considering installing the retaining clip from the pan side so I can change it easily if needed - thoughts?

Thank you for your reply!

I'm not sure how/where to save the image - I'll try sending it to you.
Thank you for looking.

spring in the bore first
then threaded end towards the clip end
retaining clip from pan side is ok. won't be easy to get the valve out but might be possible. can't say I've ever tried

Fitzall TCC valve should be what you replace it with if you do end up swapping it out

If Maroon Monster says it is the TCC valve-train that comes with the TransGo 4L60E kits... Then that is definitely what it is.

I am guessing that you do not have the instructions for one of the TransGo kits (SK or HD2).

As stated; the threaded end of the valve faces outward.
This is so that an included small bolt can be threaded into the valve.
This is done only if the bore is not quite worn out yet... The valve will fit too tightly in the bore.
The builder is supposed to work the valve back and forth by holding onto the bolt.
This will very slightly increase the valve to bore clearance... allowing the valve to travel in its bore.
