Default A4 Shifter Not Locking Into Gear - Help!

I bought a 2001 WS6 back in January with 26K miles on it and everything worked great, haven't drove it a ton but shifted it manually a bunch and zero issues. Recently had a full break & suspension upgrade and now the shifter seems to slip around and not want to lock into gear. It also makes me push noticeably hard when going back into park to hear the click so I can get the key out. from reverse to drive seems really slippery and D to 3 & 2 is so loose now. It was never like this prior to dropping off but I also know that the work I had done was completely unrelated, just strange that when I got the car back it started happening. They did some audio work as well and had the shifter column apart, but don't know what could have happened to cause this issue all of a sudden. Anyone experience this and know what my issue is?

Thanks
Andy

If they removed the ****, it might not be installed correctly.
