4L80E Seems to slip when in R and OD selections
This is what I say also.
BUT...there are some customers that just can't seem to be wise enough to understand how to drive something.
so...$200 extra to their bill and they can have a kit that thinks for them
Also...trucks up here in NW Iowa that are used exclusively for plowing snow in the winter...they get the kit too.
There are far too many Reverse to Fwd gear changes (that don't always happen when fully stopped) to risk anything.

I would definitely want the extra support from the Over-run clutch for a Plow-Truck.
Even having the the Over-run clutch on, in Reverse... is Great!!!
This reminds me of when we (GM) had to modify the 4L60E in a Paddle-Shift Corvette package; so that when the gear-selector is put into paddle-shift mode
(D3 position for the manual-valve with a shifter that ONLY has P-R-N-D-S).
S= the paddle-shift position.
So I had to modify the separator plate holes to block off D2 oil from the Over-run clutch, and steal D3 Oil from before the 2-3 shift-valve... and send D3 oil to the Over-run clutch.
Well... remove some holes and a check-ball... add some holes... LOL.
Now when the gear selector is in the "S" position (D3), the Over-run clutch is applied in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd... instead of ONLY 3rd!
Fun Times!!!
