Default Need help 4l60e torque converter rubbing front pump

98 Z28 front pump was replaced with new torque converter. The torque converter is rubbing the pump causing a harsh vibration. Any ideas ? Crankshaft?

When you installed the converter, did you measure the distance between the converter mounting pads and the flexplate before you tightened the trans to engine bolts? If yes, what was the gap?
I wonder if this step was skipped and the converter was smashed into the trans which has now damaged the pump rotor. Almost surprised the car moves at all, but likely not for long.
What model and part number was the converter? It just doesn't sound right. (no pun intended)
