What I am hoping GM will end up doing, is eventually, make the 4L80E adaptable to the Corvette, or more specifically, the C5. I would buy it in a heart beat!

I like the closer ratios of the 80 more than the wider range of the 60. No bog after shifts. Two more gears, one at the bottom, one at the top would be ideal. I use a Gear Vendors OD with the 80 and a 4.56 rear end with 29.4" tires. Good launch, good cruising, close ratios, and just about bulletproof.

That sounds like an AWESOME setup, James. It's the first I heard of anything like that on a A4. Your truck sounds really well built.

Hmm, never thought of it (or heard anyone talk of it) that way. I always heard complaints of the tall first gear...
