Default 4l80e converter recommendations

Hello all. Putting together a 2002 SN95 With a L 92, BTR stage 2 cam, LS3 intake, 4l80e and a 3.27 rear. Holley TermX.

I will call the manufacture, but I was wondering what your guys thoughts are on what would be a good converter for just a street car. I really hate the mushy feeling of some stall converters so I just like to stay as low as possible with stall. I will be running lock up, don’t think I need a triple disc unit. Who do you guys like? Was thinking PTC, but Trans Specialties is down the street from me also. Thanks.

I use some TSI stuff. They are a big supplier of converter parts. I might give one of their in-house converters a try soon.

Yes they are a big supplier to a lot of other converter companies. I’m sure they can make a good converter. But wondering how their driveability compares to others.

honestly in my experience it's 50/50 getting the right converter build the first time out. It's more art than science.

in my limited experience Jake's has nailed it 2 for 2 out of the box. Circle D was a pleasure when their unit needed a re stall. I am looking to try a FTI next time around.

I would call some of the places recommended and call them. tell them your goals and details about your build. modern converters drive great on the street and flash right where you need within a couple hundred rpm. call them see who you get along with best on the phone since you're basically purchasing a year long relationship. buy a triple if you need to lock it on the dyno. single billet otherwise. judging by your parts list you are not looking at 500 dollar "sloppy budget" converters.

my dos centavos

Whoever I call I'm sure can tell me what I want to hear. I'd like to hear other people experience though.

Probably looking at a single disc??? Not trying for any hero max mph drag runs. Unless the difference in price is minimal.

Since your not looking for hero dyno numbers or squeezing an extra MPH or 2 out at the track, stick with the single and don't lock it under WOT. Cost difference is gonna vary manufacturer to manufacturer but ours is a $300 difference.
