Hi. I'm currently rebuilding my 4L60E from about 2003. My reverse input drum has burn marks on it but when checked with a straight edge, it looks perfectly flat all the way around. The band itself is also flat and has a decent amount of material left. Is the drum ok to use? Bit of scotch brite to clean it up? I know that the best option is to just replace it anyway but when including postage, they're a bit pricey.
Side note: Is is possible to install the teflon rings without the rediculously expensive tool? Or should I get step-cut seals? This isn't an overly high performance build (V6).
