Converter Recommendation
Howdy!
I am building a budget turbo ls swapped Nova, and I have taken the advice of others that the penny pinching should not be done on converter selection.
I called up Hughes converters yesterday and told them my specs and they haven't emailed me back, today I called up summit and the sales guy wouldn't recommend a converter because of the uncertainty of the brake stall.
So here is where I am at:
SUM 8715 222/233 .600/.575 115+3
Stock 862 heads with valve job and a touch up on the bowls
stock bottom end stock compression
twin gt3582's t3 hotside .63 AR I believe, I know they are peanut turbos
Will run blow through on 6014, plan to go to E
6014 2 step lowest setting is 3,000 rpm, I don't plan on using a trans break, I need to foot break at least past this to get on 2 step,
stock 2.73 gears in the back will probably run the cliche 9~10" wide tire from 26.5 to 29.5" in diameter, I have not looked too deeply into tire selection
Car will not be a daily, only driven to test hits, to the track, and back
I plan to run low boost to tune, and then keep turning it up until something breaks so probably will be between 350 and 700 wheel depending on tune
If anyone has any suggestions and/or a place/company to look or call I am all ears. I would prefer something off the shelf, but will consider a spec'd one depending on turn around time
Thank you for reading and for the help

I recommend you call a manufacturer and talk to them.
There are a couple companies that support this forum and we should support them back
@Jake's Performance
@FTI Converters

Spoke to FTI briefly,
Was recommended "SST-89-OT", filled out a card and put in an order.
May use my old converter to hold me over until then. Lead time is a month
Happy to hear from someone and get the ball rolling

The Cylinder-Heads that you have will significantly out-flow the Turbochargers (especially with that Camshaft).
There will most likely be excessive back-pressure in the hot-side...
Making Waste-Gate control very difficult.
Good luck!
Both companies that Maroon Monster Posted are great!
You can't go wrong!
I would definitely discuss your Engine configuration including the small Turbochargers with whomever specs the Torque-Converter.
Extra care should be taken when specifying a Torque-Converter for a Turbocharger-Build...
as it can greatly effect how the Turbochargers spool-up.

I have dual ebay 44's Tial Knock offs,
I 100% believe the hotside will be a significant bottleneck, but this is a budget build at the moment. Only thing not budget oriented is the fuel system and at the moment this converter
When I finish the car I may move up to s366's if I feel so, or change up the entire combo and get a certified roller.
If it falls short of 700~800 and only makes 640 @ 17lbs that is completely fine for what I am doing at the moment

Welcome to the FTI family! The SST Series is a very popular and great option for various turbo LS applications. I'm sure you will not be disappointed.
