Default Moroso 4l80e Deep pan - which filter

They recommend a 4l60e deep filter.. doesn't work.. have to **** it just right to clear edge of pan as it is a different shape and it too is too long with adapter and too short without
Stock filter too short and with extension THEY provide it is 1/8 too long and Pan won't go on

I am 3d printing my own adapter out of ABS to get the right depth, but not crazy about that idea... Anyone else run this thing and what filter did you use?

Are you guys referring to the Moroso Aluminum Sheet-Metal Oil-Pan?

If so... Use the Stock SPX-Filter with the stupid extension that is included.

Honestly, a Cast Aluminum Pan with Fins/ Ribs on the outside, and inside bottom of the pan...
that uses a Stock Filter, and no extension would be ideal.

Yep that's the one... I have 3 different gaskets and the stock filter sits against the valve body so can't go much shorter, but add their extension filter bottom is 3/8 below pan. I am certainly regretting the wasted money now, but got it want to use it. Maybe the gave me wrong extension.

i thought about that too.. but the seal goes into the adapter.. so if I shorten it the seal won't fit...

so if the stock filter/pan sits at a given level and the fluid level is the same, just more under it for deeper pan, any harm in not using extender you think?
