Default Mid plate converter in 5.3l

Is this mid plate spacer welded on this converter the same as the lS1 to powerglide spacer? A friend of mine has this bte converter for sale and i was planning on buying it. I just wanted to know if this would fit into my turbo 5.3. Or would it need to be removed and a new one welded on. He had it on a nitrous 584bbc to powerglide. Turbo spline. Thnx

hard to tell from photo but looks like just a 1/4" mid plate extension. Unless BTE already makes there pilots taller than stock then you'll need another 1/4" on the pilot. OR you can grind it down and add a slip on adapter. A weld on adapter is an option as well you just need the right bushing to hold it on center while you weld.

It looks like the outer diameter of the welded sleeve is 1.685. The outer diameter of the LS adapter sleeve is 1.696. They look like about the same diameter and same height. So it just might fit without grinding off the old spacer and welding the new LS spacer on. Thought I would post this incase somebody else runs into it. Thnx
