LM7 to 4l80e conversion
Starting up a new build and am ordering parts and am stuck at a little bit of a roadblock here. I have a Lm7 out of 2005 sierra that was originally mated to a 4l60e. Looking to upgrade to a 4l80e, but am confused as to what I really need to get to make the conversion in terms of physical parts. Mainly unsure of what to do with the flywheel, as I originally thought you could run a 6.0 flex plate and it would work because they came mated to 4l80s from the factory. It seems like some people say that worked for them and for others it didn't, and some people are running spacers on their flex plates while others aren't. The more threads I keep looking at the more confused I get about what I do and do not need. This is my first car build so I am trying to do as much reading as possible beforehand but I keep getting stuck in this one spot. Any and all help is appreciated as I'm probably missing something here!
