I posted about a problem I was having “All gears go forward 4L80e”.
I fixed that by reconnecting the arm from the rooster comb to the manual valve. The arm was rough on the end (not smoothly machined). It was barely long enough to engage the manual valve. I ran it through the gears with the pan off to see if it stayed engaged.
Today it must have fallen out of the manual valve (again). I can’t find rooster combs for a 4l80e online. Has anyone ever experienced this? Where can I find a 4L80e rooster comb?

Yes. It only had to be lowered slightly. And like I said the arm on the rooster comb was rough on the tip where it goes into the manual valve and it just barely engaged the manual valve. The manual valve moved freely.

I am out of town now. I will be able to take the pan off on Sunday and take pictures. I didnt even check for the "nail" when I put the arm in the manual valve.

So I took the pan off today. The manual valve was not connected to the rooster comb. I saw that the rooster comb was not flat and as you turned the shaft the bend would pull the arm away from the manual valve. It’s hard to see in the picture but the rooster comb is not flat. It is warped. Good engagement into the manual valve After straightening out the rooster comb the arm is firmly in the manual valve
