TH400 Rebuild kit Couldn't find a thread with this info, so
I'm going to try my first automatic transmission rebuild and I want a kit, for a TH400, that has "everything" that I will actually need.
It's a street/strip type rebuild, no huge horsepower here, just a strong reliable build.

Best thing is to tear it down first. Check everything over very closely. Decide what you want/need to replace, what can be reused. Order the parts you want/need.
I like to replace all frictions, bushings, sprag's/one way clutch's, torrington bearings, modulator Etc. I'll reuse steel plates as long as there are no metal to metal contact or hot spots.
Vorteciroc is correct, there really is no real "kit" that has everything!! Why?, because every unit is unique for a parts list. Sure there are common part's that are replaced in every job, but not every part required to do the build comes in the kit.
Because of covid, suppliers are out of things a lot and I've spent more $$ on Ebay than ever.
This is a decent "Banner kit" that would get you started on your journey.

It would give you things to do while your waiting on the other parts needed after you tear it down.
I buy everything from wittrans.com after I have made up my parts list.
