Transmission slip or Tach malfunction?
vehicle is a 2003 hummer H2 6.0 with roughly 500k miles...
Mostly stock - Does have a cold air intake - cat delete with flowmaster dumbed at rear......
Transmission was rebuilt roughly a year ago - upgraded clutch's/sift kit with Corvette servo.....
Recently iv noticed some ( best way I know to describe it ) grungy shifts - shifts that don't feel normal...... Altho It wasnt a repetitive issue - just felt like from time to time - I didn't get the perfect clean crisp shift..... I honestly thought it was mostly in my head - maybe due to throttle pedal ( foot work )- like I let off in the middle of a shift or something.....
I have not noticed any slipping - but thought from time to time I experienced a delayed shift..... Again could be in my head.....
My major concern is what is taking place in this video - Notice after the first shift - Around 4 to 5k the RPMs start fluctuating - I cant seem to tell if the transmission is slipping or if I'm having a engine issue.....
Going by the seat of the pants - I dont really feel the transmission slip - but I'm honestly not sure......
This is pulling my 24 foot race trailer - it's a heavy trailer built for hauling snowmobiles back in the early 2000s - it's got some weight to it......
The shifts themselves are crisp and strong - but the RPMs fluctuating has me concerned - Also notice when it does this - the speedometer never shows any signs of a issue..... This is at WoT.....
My fluid looks clean but does have a burner smell - however the burned smell may just be from the previous ( burn up )
Also this is right after I installed fresh plugs and wires earlier that day.....
any recommendations or thoughts on this are greatly appreciated!

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
hauling a Sprint car in a 24' I've scaled at over 15,000 on the trailer with fuel drums tires, tools etc..
The trailer does cause the hummer to set down a bit - maybe a inch in total...... My buddy has a 28 footer - full blown setup - 2 cars inside - tools and cabinets and he scales in around 8490lbs....
I'm fairly certain the week point when towing for the Hummers was the braking system.....
I'll definitely look into this ...... Thanks bud.....
Thanks again to everyone else and happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
