Default Stock 4l80 Flexplate with Powerglide

I’m a newb, hence this section. I’m wanting to know if I can use my stock Flexplate with my powerglide. Original combo was a 2009 LY6/4l80 from a GMC 3500. It’s going into a 1985 Buick T-Type. Street legal but 90% drag car.

I would suggest purchasing a SFI approved flexplate if you are building a high-performance vehicle.

Did you read the stickies?

The answer to your question is...sortof

You can make any stock flexplate work if you order the converter properly to match

With a stock 4l80e flexplate you'll need a standard "th400" converter
meaning standard short pilot
and standard 11.5" bolt circle
