Default 4L60E - What else to replace with a new converter and cooler.

I've been poking through the stickies and see the obvious and trying to verify I'm not leading myself in a bad direction, currently about to drop my trans for a CDS 4K stall/cooler. There seems to be a lot of conflicting information from what was considered acceptable in the past and now and just trying to clear that up.

Trans is a factory 4l60e on my 98 ls1 camaro, 80k miles, currently no issues/healthy. I have no expectations of making it last forever in it's current form but would like to not regret not doing anything simple while I have it out this go around, hoping it will last for a season or two before needing built as it's going to be a simple bolt on car for now, possibly getting a cam next year at which point I'll be expecting to rebuild or possibly swap it. Outside of a new filter and a decent cooler, what else at this point would be worth doing while it's out, flexplate, new filter, deeper pan, shift kit from probuilt...or just leave it alone until she blows or I'm ready to build it lol? Don't have the skill, space, or time to pull this apart this winter and want the car in decent shape if possible.

I removed the transmission on my suburban recently to fix a leak in the LQ4 engine rear main seal.

Normally I would have put everything back together and kept on trucking. But I decided to replace the torque converter lock-up o ring. They kinda flatten out over time. Also did the front pump main seal on the transmission. I had done a flush, filter and fresh fluid job last year and I didn't have to drop the pan. In your situation, I'd say new filter and fluid.

I would replace the front seal while you have the trans out. A deeper pan and matching filter would be a cheap/easy up grade. A shift kit from Probuilt would firm up the shifts but will require you to remove the valve body.

In addition to what bbond said, i would also recommend you to replace the lock up o ring.

I'm likely missing something simple but I'm having a **** time trying to figure a part number, happen to have a link for me?

Regarding pulling the valvebody, judging from the few youtube videos I've skimmed, it doesn't seem hard at all and I'm thinking it's probably the furthest I'd like to dive into the trans myself. Should I try to get ahold of Probuilt prior to placing an order as their webpage says it's matched to vehicle/driving/converter/etc?

Yes, call Dana at Probuilt and he will fix you up. Order well ahead of time, it takes a little for him to put your kit together.
