Default 4l60 e questions

A friend ask me to complete a ls swap that someone else started. It has a 4l60 e from a 1999 Yukon. I have almost everything done but nothing happens when I put the truck in gear any gear. There is power to the transmission the torque converter gets hot like it is pumping fluid. I don't know if the guy who started the project installed the converter to the pump correctly or not or if the wiring is all correct. He has nothing on the driver's side of the transmission prnd has no wiring at all. I do not know where to start with the problem. Thanks

1st did it take a full 12 qts. or spit it out the vent?
2nd Pull the upper cooler line. It is cooler return, rig a line from the radiator to a 5qt jug. I have an old line that i use, it has a 3ft. lead of 3/8" rubber cooler hose. Run engine for 30 seconds and see it there is any flow. It should be 1 qt in 30 sec. No flow usually means a broken pump rotor. I uploaded a cooler return chart for anyone that wants it.
3rd you could test for pressure it should have 70-90 in P, N, D & M3. No pressure is still most likely a pump problem.
Keep us posted with the results.

thanks I didn't fill it that was done when the previous person had it. I will check for flow but I don't think there is any since the converter is hot but the lines are cool.
