Default 4L80e Hd-2 remove or new valve body

So I have the trans apart and it has the full Hd-2 setup from the previous builder. They nicked the partition while drilling which is one potential issue. I’m going to be dual feeding internally so I’m trying to figure out if:
I should keep the valve body and just tap and plug the pressure relief hole and get new separator plate and run it with all the other hd-2 components in place or just get the sonnax valve body(with or without overrun clutch kit installed??) and the AFL already bored and replaced and start fresh. From there just do Jakes or CK recalibration setup? Thanks

Is the partition too damaged?

I think not, it should be fine. if you need to plug it. Tap it for a 8/32 or 10/32 set screw, which ever one will fit best. Add a drop of reg loc-tite and let it sit for 24 hours

cool thanks! Would I need to plug both of the holes? The one under the relief valve as well as the one shown?

also is this wear worrisome on the case side?

The one under the relief valve as well as the one shown? Better safe than sorry but I think just the the one that goes through the partition is all that is needed
That is normal for a 4L80E those are the #3 front band apply & #4 2nd clutch which is the busiest check-ball in there.

The easiest to plug is just the one under the relief valve.
You don't need to plug the one in the partition.
That small cavity is normally just an unused void so it won't harm anything to leave the partition open and plug the hole where the relief valve used to sit

Can someone help me out here, didn’t want to start a new thread. I’m trying to source dura bond bushings where I can but it’s near impossible. For the sun gear and overrun clutch I have the options of dura-bond 03131brs fluted bronze or aftermarket fluted steel backed. Which is preferred here? Thanks

I just use these for most builds WIT part # 34054A, along with the lube mods. When I look at the Durabond catalog 03131BRS is a semi finished bushing and may require honing for proper fit.
