Transmission rebuild questions!
I have a 4L60E in a 2000 Pontiac firebird formula. What exact rebuild kit do you guys recommend? I know I will also need other parts that may be worn out or broken here or there.
I also do not have a 2nd or 4th gear if you guys could list all of the possible causes

I see this is only your 3rd post, but please take a little time to read here.
There are pinned posts that are great to read that would answer your questions about 2nd and 4th gear failure
And lots of info on what to do for a rebuild kit
@PBA has been around for a long time supporting this forum and he has very complete kits.

I found a local shop in Odessa for my first rebuild brought all my 4l70e steels and hard parts which they said reuse after inspecting. Really helpful people made gave me some confidence for the build and told me about blocking the pwm valve with 2 check *****.They set me up with exedy clutches, unknown apply band, transtec soft parts kit, Corvette servo, upgraded accumulator pistons and a stock converter.
My second time this month I was familiar with the parts and ordered a Borg Warner frictions, soft parts and molded pistons kit from ebay to freshen things up with separate orders for 3-4 boost springs that ride in the input housing and a complete bushing kit. Note the various sizes on the valve body bolts and the sockets to use them!!!
There are so many modifications you can do to this transmission but i will suggest one, keep track of all your heat shields. I decided to leave mine off at my last residence and in this build I knew how much of a difference it can make shielding the exhaust. I spent half a day literally today fabricating 3 shields to block my exhaust from cooking the pan and shift selector which loves melting if left uncovered depending on exhaust setup. I've yet to upgrade my cooler may do it next month budget issues
