Default New converter or restall?

I have a @Circle-D 278mm 3200 converter, it was behind my full bolt on LS2 TBSS and was a great converter before I kicked a rod. Had a 402ci built that made 670hp and 585tq before putting the vacuum pump and ewp on so I would assume a bit closer to 700. Anyways obviously the converter will act differently now, should I be looking for something smaller? 245, 258, 265? Maybe have this one restalled? Peak TQ was at 4800 and it made 500+ft lbs from 3500 to 6650 where it made peak HP. It's mostly street driven but I dont mind giving up some streetability for performance gains.

Thanks for any suggestions! Converters are black magic as far as I am concerned.

Man, w that kind of power, i think i'd have to move up to a dual, triple disk billet type converter. If you've invested that much in your engine build, why not do the same for your trans. Just my opinion.

I have emails and forms in with a couple big manufacturers already. I don't plan on locking up at WOT so I was only planning on a single disk. Didn't see the need to pay for a big expensive multi-disk. It'll only see the track 1-2 times a month. I imagine I could have circle D restall and put a billet cover on it at the very least. I know what you're saying though. I am currently working with a tight budget now due to some life changes so a $2000 converter is out of the question.

I love my Circle-D triple-disk 3600. Of course really using it requires being able to tune the trans to keep the lockup engaged at high throttle.
