Default Stock 6L 4l80e flexplate Strength

How strong is the stock flexplate?
I will be making 550 crank N/A and later hope to make 700 - 800 with a turbo
Heavy 6k lbs street truck, gonna get a semi-built 4l80e behind it at some point

I would call various trans shops that build trannies to withstand that kind of power and see what they say.
Learn from the pros.....

Yeah, I'm gonna ask a local convertor guy when I go to his shop he'll probably know. Not a lot of performance transmission shops near me. The local trans guy said he just rebuilt the 2 4l80s he did with an HD trans go shift kit, and that's definitely not what I am going to do. Gonna internally dual feed, Allison clutch pack on the one drum, some block off plates...
there is just so much to do when building a motor. Oh yeah, I need a fuel pump, Oh yeah alt cant spin faster than 18k need a larger pulley.. it just keeps going.

See if you can find a 6 groove, 3" diameter pulley to slow down alternator.
try a Delco # 1986832

Pulley was stock on 85 Buick with 94 amp 12SI
You can probably get it to fit your AD244, that's what I use on 4.8 Liter that likes to REV

I already got a pulley, and yes it is 3". Might go to a 2.85" depending where the setup makes power so that I don't loose to much alt at lights. Just wondering to myself what the next thing is gonna be. Probably something fuel related since the truck is 05 so it's returnless and when I turbo I'm gonna need a boost referenced regulator

9 times out of 10 a broken flex plate is from a missing dowel, trans to block bolts loose or trans to block alignment.

True with stock hp, not so much when getting in the 500hp range. At least with an LS1 flex plate.

I still gotta tig weld the cracked part of the trans case where the top bolt goes through, But yeah I'll make sure to get everything in just saw a video someone was replacing a motor because they didn't put dowels in with the trans. probably didn't have the right clearance flex plate to TC either.

they got a high performance / HD one on rock auto by pioneer. Called the guy said the 2 are exactly the same and rated for 500hp and SFI certified where as the stocker is rated for 350. should I just go this route even though I may eventually make 7-800hp crank or should I be getting billet?
the price is real good too, but I've always wondered why the aftermarket stuff is only 3 bolts not 8

EDIT - just gonna buy that when I order some stuff from rock auto, people have been runing them to 800whp I'm sure it will work fine on a street driven truck
