4l70e output shaft

4l70e output shaft Hey guys got a couple of questions for my tranny for my v8 landcruiser swap!
I got a cammed ly6 which is currently being rebuilt and a 4l70e to go behind it, into my 80 series landcruiser.
i have to change the output shaft from 4x4 to 2wd so the transmission bolts to my toyota t-case, so first question is the sonnax heavy duty 2wd output shaft the same dimensions as the stock 2wd output shaft?
second question, as I have to strip the transmission to change the output shaft I might as well put a rebuild kit in! Which kit is recommended?

Yes they are same length and some what complete tear down, You have toremove pump and input drum assemblies to get to clip to remove install shaft.

The strongest 2WD output shaft from GM is the one that has a "3 line ID" on the end of the output shaft. You should already have this in a 4L70E, if it has the 2WD output shaft. If not locate "3 line ID" output shaft. This should not run you over $75.00 max. Try Teal Automotive in Dunkirk, Indiana. Make sure you tell them you want a 3 line shaft for your application. Do not tell them this is an HD shaft. As this will make the price go up. This will save you a lot of money over the cost of a Sonnax shaft. The normal 2WD output shaft has a "6 line ID" on the end of the output shaft. That shaft can be cryoed to make it a very strong output shaft. Do not cryo the 3 line output shaft. Leave it as is.
