4l60E transmission
I know I seen a 100 things on what I’m about to ask, but I never seen a fix. A deer ram out and hit me and busted my trans coolant. I didn’t know. I drove it a 100 or 2 yards and it got to not wanting to shift. I pulled over and got my other truck and pulled it home. Put on a new trans coolant and the ole lady drove it to work and that morning it was fine. That evening it wouldn’t shift past 2. I changed the filter and shift solenoids and still the same and the fluid that was in the pan was clean no metal or anything. I don’t know what to do. It will go into park, reverse, 1 and 2 and I don’t know if it is going into 2 right. 45 mph is 2500 rpm. Anyone know anything that would help me out. Thank you
Sorry to hear of your accident and the damage it caused.
Yeah, most likely the 3/4 clutch is toast.
One test would be to unplug the electrical harness to the trans. This forces it into 3rd gear with max line pressure. If it doesn't move, its pretty much guaranteed the 3/4 clutch is worn out.
Assuming you really only drove it 200 yards, is possible (likely?) that the trans was already well worn, and this was just the final straw.
Also, welcome to the forum!
