Default 1994 S10 Blazer Code 83

Having trouble with my 94 Blazer. Brand new transmission and torque converter installed and I'm getting a code 83.
What can cause this? is it a problem with the solenoid(s)?

83is TCC/PWM electrical except a 94 should nto have a PWM solenoid , But indeed some late 94 did have it and or of course your PCM could have been swapped to a 95 ? if its a new trans remove pan from old one if you have it are there 2 solenoid with one bolted or three with two horizontal cliped and one under bolted , If indeed you have a late 94 that did have it or have a 95 pcm swapped in and bought a 94 trans to replace . The new trans may not have it while your original did .
Or just pull pan on old one and take picture filter removed of valve body . Post here. In all cases it is an easy fix but need to determine first.

The PCM is labeled "factory authorized remanufactured" so that could be one clue 16197427

I only have one good photo of the old transmission, it's gone now.

And that is your answer, If you bought a 94 trans likely ot deos not have the PWM solenoid .In my builds I add them on all 94 for this reason I learned eary on some late 95 had the solenoid . Ok easy fix two possibilites you can get a 95 harness and add the solenoid tot he trans you have or optionally find the wire for the PWM and install a resistor between it and PIN E wire in vehicle harness (probably easiest) I can get you the resistence tomorrrow and you can order it on amazon and just splice it in all fixed .

Thanks, where would be a good spot on the harness to splice the resistor in?

Alternatively, I have this harness and (I think) tcc solenoid
in my parts bin. Can this help aid a fix? Thanks for the replies.

Ok measure across that solenoid , then get a 10 watt resistor and find the coresponding wire in the harness for the PWM solenoid been a while so dont remember color I think purple but double check dont hold me to that use a 95 diagram to double check color or i will try and look up later, Splice between it and main power PIN E wire in trans harness, This will solve issue without pulling pan.
Or alternatly you can pull pan and change out that harness you have into it and add the solenoid , it wont do anything but will act as a dummy to keep computer happy .
Either way will solve your issue, other option is also of course find someone with cats tuner and just have them turn off code for the pwm its a box you just uncheck in the master switches section.

Thanks for the info! Can you tell if that is the correct solenoid from the picture? Is there a way to check on a Tech2 scanner of it'll work before I reinstall the pan and add fluid? Much appreciated.

*UPDATE*
Installed the solenoid and the code went away! Driving a lot better, still getting a rough idle which is most likely the spider injector. Code 83 is gone and the blazer is driving the best it has since owning it. Thanks for the help!
