Default C5 4L60E Dimensions

I’m planning an oddball swap and believe a corvette torque tube, transaxle, rear suspension will be my best solution.

It’s a long shot, but do any of you happen to have dimensions of the automatic transaxle from a c5 vette? I’ve been googling for it, and really haven’t came across anything helpful.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well physical dimensions are identical to any 4l60e bolt on style, the bell is of course different and of course no tail housing as it bolts directly to rear end. other than that no dipstick is the only different as far as physical size. I dont have the measurements for the case length or bell depth on hand right now

Good, that’s a start for me atleast. I can find the basic dimensions in the 4l60e and go from there. The bellhousing looks smaller than a standard one.

I am surprised that the converter is back with the trans. On my 944 with a similar layout, the clutch is with the engine, maybe the autos are like the C5s then?

This is a very odd, maybe stupid conversion, but my plans are to drop this into a Prius. Not trying to build a race car, I just want to say I did it. I feel the torque tube/transaxle with the suspension will be the easiest to drop in complete. Waste of a good drivetrain I know, but Atleast the autos aren’t so desirable.

Clutch is to dis-engage the drivetrain, you could put it anywhere there is room in theory.

The Convertor uses fluid to work as designed, and turns the Pump in the Transmission so it has to be with the Transmission.

C5-C7 Corvette the Clutch Assembly is on back of the Engine in the Manuals. Auto the Transmission is in the back with the Convertor.
