4l60e weak swap to 80e
Sure you can get a junkyard 4L80E, throw a transgo in it and hope for the best with a used compatible stock flexplate, TH400 stock yoke, cheap hayden cooler and some cheap off the shelf converter in it, but not something I'd personally do.
Most people don't realize when going to an 80e, they now have to spin about 80lbs (i'm just guesstimating) more rotating mass from a trans thats a good bit heavier.
-I've never weighed either. I know a 4l80 is ALOT heavier when picking either up. I tried to look it up but I find conflicting info (internet as usual) one yahoo said the 80e was only 20-30lbs heavier which i know better than that!
I have wondered if any of the aftermarket systems w/trans control hasten the demise of a 4l60E.

and when I say tq management, I’m referring to pulling timing on the shifts only. If I’m not mistaken, the fastest and most powerful factory cars have torque management. A 4l80 isn’t immune to failures either. Especially if it shifts hard. Shifting hard tears **** up. I prefer a fast positive shift over a firm or hard shift.

And as a tuner said the PCM can work against you depending on the set up. in mine it actually factory pulled back line on the 2-3 at all but WOT I guess to avoid clucky feel. I saw that in the tune and went HMM and fixed it now the 2-3 at low and par throttle is much much firmer.
