As this photo being an example I don't have the picture of my own 4l80e housing yet but as I was swapping out a new detent lever and a new shift shaft I noticed a little gap as if in there was a chipped piece (red highlight)? The silver piece was gone and part of the black piece in the photo was partially there. The (blue highlight looks just fine as it looks in the photo. Any idea what this may be? And if it is a huge issue what is the fix. Please this caught my attention im waiting for my custom driveshaft to be built and don't want to drive it like this.... or if im even able to drive lol. {again this is not my transmission in the photo it is an example because my slow ahhssss forgot to take a picture of it}

If you look at the red circle. There is a silver/chrome piece and on mine it’s missing and the black metal around the metal is partially gone.
The picture is what it’s supposed to look like (it’s a example photo) but on mine it’s missing

The blue circle is normal on my transmission nothing wrong with it

 

 

Please mark very specifically whats missing I think you are talking the void area at that corner which would be fine but want to make sure

 

I guess he is talking about the web being chunked out a bit near the valve body bolt hole probably from the average toss the parts around type technician.
