D3 pro uses a larger solenoid that pulls less than 5
Either way, protect the circuit with a fuse. Use a solid state relay if you plan to bump
I never recommend an ECU trigger be sent directly to a transbrake solenoid. If using an ECU output, always use a relay
By the way, I'm using an MSD solid state relay pack. I don't plan to bump at all. I'm going for an old-school approach, backup brake light circuit (through a relay) to provide reverse during backing up and then a parallel button activation switch for staging/launch. Still on a search for a well designed safety lock-out diagram as this is a street/strip car but worst case, I could use a mechanical spring-loaded switch cover to keep fiddly fingers off the activation button.
