4l60e case replacement

I'm in need of a new case for my '06 4l60e 6CAD. I've found a possible at global transmission. But there's a distinction I'm not familiar with. There's a 'giraffe' and a 'hippo' variant in the case passages. Nevermind mine is a giraffe when Rock auto seems to jive with Global and details the hippo for my application. but I'm sure this tranny was replaced before I bought this vehicle. My question to global was are they interchangable to which a 'no' response. But the valve bodies anywhere I look don't distinguish between these cases. No rebuild kit either. I never really ever saw this distinction before in my very limited experience. Sounded a bit like a CYA answer. My question here is about that case compatibility with the rest of my internals.

The cases are interchangeable . You can use any 06 up case with push in front seal , Note the cooler line fitting size started changing about in 2005 and its kinda random through 2006 the all same after

You an use any case that uses the push in seal around pump . To the best of my knowledge none existed prior to late 2005 . earlier cases will not work with your existing pump as it has no provision for the pump oring seal to case.
