Default Stall converter choice

I have a 98 T/A with a stock (for now) LS1 and 4.10 gears. I’m installing a new transmission and need to make a choice on a converter. The car is mostly street use only and may only see a track a couple times but is drivin spirited often.
what stall speed is recommended?
for a 4l60 that has a performance rebuild.

Yank SS3600. Yes, a Yank PT4000 will work better at the track but it got on my nerves if I had to daily drive it.

I would get an FTI 3600 or 4000 stall converter.

If you want something that you won't have to replace with future mods. I would recommend going with a 9.5in/245mm billet option like our SRLT series. There are plenty of stall options at this size and durability is unmatched.

Since you are a more spirited driver and already have a good rear gear ratio; I would definitely take these guys advice and go with a converter in the 3600-4000rpm stall range. Plus you will have the added bonus of not needing to restall your converter later on when you add a larger cam and do the rest of your engine upgrades.

A quality 3600 or 4000 stall converter will drive better than a cheap TCI 3000 all day long. When I say quality, I am saying in the $1,000 price range. There are two thing that you should not cheap out on when building a car and that is cylinder heads and torque converter. These two things will make or break the way your build performs. If you purchase a poor-quality converter, you will hate your car and yourself. By once, cry once.
