Default Input shaft differences

Edit: I figured out while taking apart the pump that my suspected extra splines are not splines they are actually the reluctor for the ISS so I must locate a new shaft

The one on the left I believe came out of a 2004 Tahoe and the one on the right came out of a 2007 Silverado. There is a spot with extra splines on the shaft and I'm wondering what these are for. From what I can tell they don't go to anything but just wanted to double-check. I'm also trying to save the customer money by reusing the 2004 shaft and it was a bit rusted around the input splines and race for the torque converter lock up o-ring and I'm wondering if it's in too rough of shape to reuse. I have added a photo of the good input shaft as well.

Also wanted to know if i can use the reaction carrier shaft from a 90's model to replace the one in the photo i just added. Customer informed me after finding the Carnage in the photos that the truck would always have a really hard 1-2 shift which resulted in his output shaft shattering. I then checked the 1-2 accumulator to find that whoever built this didn't know what they were doing and left the big spring out and only had the short stiff spring in place. Also found Torrington bearings in the wrong places setting this transmission up for failure...

To answer my own questions the 2004 input shaft will not work because they are not splines! I noticed while taking apart the pump that it had the ISS and my suspected splines are actually a reluctor. Guess I have to locate an input drum for this guy online

When the output shaft shattered it created this damage on the inside of the input drum. Since the sealing surface is on the inside I could probably debur it and reuse it right?

From what I can see it looks okay to reuse.

Thank you for the response, very happy to hear that. How do those 3 checkballs function? Even on a good shaft I see no movement with them. These are for the overrun, forward, and third clutch pack bleed correct?

They're not checkballs, they are just plugs. That's how they plugged the oil passages after they drilled them. If they are loose or move around throw the shaft away.

The two shafts are not interchangeable. The stator support itself is different. The location of the fore sealing rings are in a different location by .150" to make room for the input shaft reluctor.
