I walked around and picked up a 4l80e out of the junkyard today with the plan to rebuild it. Earlier I took the pan off and didn’t see much material in the pan and what you can see from the picture from the magnet on my finger. I’m wondering if you guys think this transmission could still be good to drive on for awhile and rebuild later, or if you have any tips on other things I should check to see if it’s bad. I know the right answer for peace of mind should be just to rebuild it now but trying to save a little from this swap where I can. I know not a lot about automatic transmission so I don’t think the fluid smelled too burnt.
